I haven’t done a style inspiration post in a while now and I’m about to rectify that.
In case you’re new around here – the style inspiration corner is where I share looks on fashion trends to serve as an inspiration on how to wear/ rock a particular trend.
My very first post in this segment was on the mixed prints trend here and it was a hit. Since then, I’ve blogged on Ponchos/capes, the socks/shoe trend, bandana neck scarf and styling the kimono trend (just to mention a few)
This time around, the trend that I’m loving right now is the athleisure trend. Which is basically wearing “athletic wears” outside the gym/court and as “fashion”. I’m talking anything from joggers, track suits, leggings, sweats to yoga clothes to even tennis wear and of course sneakers!
Athleisure isn’t an excuse to look sloppy though. It is about spicing up the traditional sport wear and making it look stylish.
This trend appeals to the inner tom boy and androgyny lover in me, but it can easily be a miss so I thought to share a few style inspiration.
My first and actual love affair with this trend started before I knew it was going to become a big trend, and like my growing love for face caps, it started with my friend Tracy showing up in a slightly oversized joggers on our trip to the salon.
I vowed to get myself one too because she looked all shades of effortless cool and laid back! Which is really all I’m about and here for.
I’m not particularly a fan of wearing tights/leggings out, but kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid seem to have this one on lock down and they make it look so good! Still, I think I’ll be sticking to the joggers end of the athleisure spectrum. Thank you!
I’m a bit skeptical about if it will pick on here because Nigerians are generally stylish people and you would hardly find people walking around in their gym clothes – except its on the lekki ikoyi bridge.

Nadia's curves are bomb.I've always loved the joggers trend though but I won't wear it.

You know! Bombbb! Why won't you? You don't feel it will fit you right?
My sister rocks joggers so effortlessly. I would like to own a pair and wear them with heels. I think that's my favorite outfit from the athleisure trend.

I Think I've told you before (via comments) that I love your sister's style! That's me fave too, and I'm currently looking for the right pair.

Like you, I'm sure alot of people would feel unsure about it too. Thanks for.reading and leaving a comment!
Been seeing this trend grow for some time now…I do love it.
I agree with what you said about appealing to ones inner tomboy, but it can easily be a miss. It takes overconfidence to do this right though

Yes! It can definitely easily be a miss. I saw so many "misses" while I was digging up pictures for this.
Think they look sexy with heels…

They do!
What Cheechee Live said! 🔝🔝🔝
Never say never though, who knows?
Exactly!!
This looks quite chic. Never thought joggers could have these really eye-catching looks.
And… Happy Sunday Cassie. I saw your mail on the LUTH thing. Don't worry, you'll gerrit, even if I have to host a night vigil and kabash on your head.
Hey Cherish! Aww i guess my mail was misleading. I actually already have it but thank you so much!!!!!
Fashion evolves alot and that's its beauty. I remember when Victoria Beckham wore a lingerie inspired dress, it was all over the news but now the lingerie inspired style has come to stay. Athleisure is really cool and I love when people experiment with fashion but it is still important to note that it cannot however be worn to some places no matter how classy it is. For example, you don't want to show up at your office with a pair of joggers and blazers just to be different.

I actually quite like this trend. All laid back and comfy. Not sure I could rock it though.

I was thinking the same. Looks so good with heels.

I am so feeling this trend! I am still on the look out for the perfect pair of joggers so I can rock it with my leather jacket and sneakers, that's exactly how I plan to wear it LOL. It's just that one has to be really careful because the trend can easily come off as ratchet if not appropriately styled. P.S If you find where to buy a nice & affordable pair, holla so I can get mine too biko

Lolol! I was about to reply that you should buy for me if you find. You know how we do it now but if I find, I will let you know for sure.
I'll rock the leggings. Because come fall/winter, that's all I'm wearing. Leggings, Sneakers and Jackets. Could also try out the joggers one if I find good ones. Not sure about wearing it with heels though- where to exactly? Def not to work.

Love you Boo, but can't share your toothbrush, Sorry!
I do like this trend and I've tried it too often- Joggers, hoodies and all. My mum keeps trying to convince me to try dressing up a bit more for causal outings. I honestly can't be bothered. Awesome post!

Wow! This promises to be an interesting trend. I don't know I feel about it yet though. It might grow on me later.

I think it's becoming a thing actually, along with tank tops as well. I feel my style is a little bit too uptight still, however; this is too much shift for me. But it suits you Cassie… It appeals to that "I can't stress it" part of you, on those kind of days…
This is so gorgeous!
Livin in this trend!
