Kachi Eloka is a wealth of knowledge and creativity. I am forever in awe of her and all the many creative skills she has – including her writing. Sometimes in my spare time, I’d go through her following list to find new creative people to follow or just things that can inspire me.
She always finds the coolest things. So I was delighted when she agreed to guest blog for me sharing some of her great internet finds.
It is safe to say that my brain is a growing repository of random wonderful things that exist on the internet. I’m talking websites, tech tools, newsletters, short films, documentaries, and brands — a whole lot of amazing brands btw, with mad creative aesthetics. When you spend as much time on the internet as I do, it is inevitable that you will discover absolutely delightful (and of course, also mediocre) things that people have put up for searchers and digital nomads to find.
Speaking of, my journey down the internet rabbit hole typically starts from an Instagram post, Pinterest or an article on some pretty cool website. Sometimes, I’d just be doing my regular research and before I know it, I’m beyond neck-deep, wading through a sea of beautiful discoveries.
But this post is really not about me. It’s about you. The only reason I’m here at all is that these good things I find shouldn’t be mine alone to consume. After all, I wasn’t raised to be stingy. (Ahem. I’m also here because Cassie slid into my dm’s after I posted a random internet find on my IG stories. Shoutout Cass, thanks for asking me to do this!)
As a straight shooter, I’ll dive right in.
1. Canned Emails.
Canned Emails is like fast food. It comes ready-made and tailored to your order. Want to send a quick email but can’t find the words? Canned Emails has templates that are ready to go. “Break up with someone”, “Apply for a job” or “Ask for advice” without ever having to rack your brain to find the words. It’s also known as a minimal site with prewritten emails.
2. Milkshake.
At least once during your existence on Instagram, you must have told people to click the link in your bio. Typically, if you’re a super cool person running a blog or business on the internet, you’d usually want to link to a number of important things related to what you do. Hello, “link-tree”.
Link-trees are good and serve the purpose, but if we’re being honest, they’re rarely ever aesthetically pleasing and usually have limited customization. Enter Milkshake, a mini Instagram website that’s far more aesthetically pleasing and dynamic. Show off your personality and your work and look cool AF while doing it.
P.S – Check out my Milkshake page here!
3. Clippings.me
I have a feeling that you may already know about this, but I’m including it regardless because it’s something that I find very useful, especially as a writer. So let’s say you don’t have your own website or blog, but you write articles for publications or you write on different platforms like Medium and LinkedIn Pulse. How do you show off the best of the best things you’ve written so far?
Clippings.me is a platform where you can host a collection of your favourite or top-rated articles, so when someone asks “can I read some of your work?”, you’re more than ready to show off. Also, it’s free.
4. The Nostalgia Machine.
Imagine yourself at a 90s themed party or jamming up to Apple Music’s ‘00s Hits Essentials playlist right there in your room. That’s kind of what The Nostalgia Machine does —it takes you back in time through music.
When you land on the site, you’re asked to pick a year and they’ll hook you up with a list of jams from the year you choose. It’s pretty cool and fun. Also, something to keep you occupied while you stay indoors.
5. Women Who Design.
Women Who Design is a directory of product designers, engineers, writers and many more accomplished women in the design industry. Honestly, it’s just so great seeing so many women doing good work. For me, it serves as a place where I can find amazing women to connect with or just learn about.
A wise woman once said “Do you want to study under the great teachers? Well, you can find them anywhere. They exist on the shelves of your library…on the walls of museums and in recordings made decades ago”. Well now, they also live on websites like this.
That’s it! I hope you discovered something new by reading this.
From a site with great email templates, to an app that helps you show off your work in a cool way, check out this list of 5 great internet finds that will boost your creativity! Click To TweetLet me round up by saying that I think it’s important for us all to share resources selflessly in any way we can. There are too many great products and brands out there, and some of them sometimes disappear when they can no longer keep the lights on because they weren’t getting enough “support” ( and people who discovered them decided to “keep it a secret”)
So here’s your call-to-action:
Share at least one interesting thing, brand or person you discovered this week. Ten 0r twenty is fine too if you can name that much. See you in the comments!

Thanks Kachi for this. This is a good discovery.
I’ve been so busy this week that I haven’t even discovered anything. But here’s something my partner shared with me. A short movie series called Omeleto on YouTube. So many short movies that engage the mind. Everytime I watch My ideas start to run wild. The plot is always out of the box.

I should have seen this Milkshake at work on IG but I had no idea what was happening. It’s probably the most useful find I found here. That doesn’t mean the rest aren’t novel and valuable. Well done, Kachi.
