There’s just something about the way you look in dresses. More mature. More feminine. Just More. “You should wear more dresses”…
There’s a bit of exaggeration in that but the fact remains the same. My mum thinks I should wear more dresses.
This time around though, I can clearly see what she’s talking about. This time, I realize that it is less about her general disdain for the way I dress and more about how good I look in this yellow Frankie and Co dress.
I mutter something back in agreement and think about how for once, I realize that she means no harm when she makes these comments about my style. And of course, how good I really look in this dress.
Lately, I’ve been a bit more impatient when it comes to picking out what to wear. I just want to throw on a T-shirt or an easy dress and hit the road. So I’ve been tilting more towards clean functional and easy pieces that can be dressed down or up.
My style is super casual but my lifestyle can call for a bit of “glam” every now and then. So, When I spotted this Frankie and Co dress at the Grey Velvet Store in Lekki, I knew that it was going to be the perfect new addition to my growing wardrobe.
I battled with getting it in “white” but settled with the yellow because I quite frankly need that pop of color in my life wardrobe. I’m glad I did.
My favorite thing asides from the color and of course the sleeves has to be the way it just sits perfectly. Not too tight and just the right length because I love to show my legs off. haha
Transitioning from “work to play”usually includes a few accessories swaps (at the least!) but in this case, all I had to do was swap shoes and take off my wig.
This Classic Frankie and Co dress is perfect for work and after work rocks. Check out how I styled both looks! Click To TweetLet me know what you think about this look and how you would style it differently (especially dressed down) as I plan to rock and rerock it!
I’ll ask what I asked on the gram when I put this out. What’s your favorite thing to wear? Dresses or pants?

On Easter Sunday, I wore this purple dress that, whether the devil liked it or not, I looked hella popping.
Just like you said, dresses with the right fit, not too tight or otherwise and the perfect length. And, yes to the aura that dresses give.
I have, especially being proud of myself regarding how I haven’t really worn denim the past months. Not sure, if it’s because I am yet to find a proper black/blue one or this corporate Nigeria life. Urggh
It’s great though, to be able to curate outfits w/o everyday jeans.
Hi Tife! Thank you for this well thought out comment! I loved reading through it.
For me, I don’t think I can do without wearing denim haha but I’m making plans to sew/buy at least one classic piece like this dress every month
I love to throw on a T-shirt and denim just because it’s very comfy and I love it.
But then again, I like my dresses although I have very few of them. Lovely dress by the way, yellow isn’t my color but seeing it on you makes me what to rethink my thoughts on the color🙄.
I think I am more comfortable in pants especially as I use public transport. It makes it easy to jump up and down that having to make sure my dress is not too short or I’m revealing too much skin, so pants it is for me.
By the way, the dress suits you just perfectly.

I love pants but Mehn I love to show some legs too haha. Thank you Debs!
Love this dress & love it on you 🙂
It’s definitely something I would wear + in my fave colour too!
Dresses are my default/ go-to because with them, I can be cute without thinking about how best to combine A & B.
You look lovely in the dresses. I also love dresses too…
Thank you so much Nikky!
Yes, Cassie, that dress looks fabulous on you! Love the color and sleeves. I need to try and wear more dresses.
You look so pretty in this dress, cassie.
