These past few weeks have been an amazing and extremely relaxing one for me. Although, it started out a bit rough, with me having difficulties adapting to the new routine but with time I got with the program.
I’m leaving atlanta today (Started writing this before I left for the airport. I’m currently sitting at the airport in Dubai awaiting my connecting flight to Nigeria.) and thought to share some pictures I took while I was here.
I didn’t get to do lots of exploring or experience the city as I would have loved to – majorly because of transportation issues and it didn’t exactly help that we live in the suburbs where there aren’t lots of exciting places and things to see/do. I tried something new though – I went skating and embarrassed myself thoroughly.lol
I spent most of my days with my cousins playing games, riding our bicycles around the estate and down to the lake, going to the movies, taking pictures and the occasional grocery shopping/errand runs. Seems like the most ordinary things but I was making beautiful memories.
The last time I came here some four years ago, I got to go downtown Atlanta with my uncle and we went to the Georgia Aquarium.
This time around, I hooked up with blogger Winifred and together with my cousins, we tried to do a little exploring of the city. We went to the CNN building, checked out the centennial olympic park and admired the skyview ferris wheel. My most exciting part of downtown has to be the five points area- that’s where all the graffiti and coloured walls and the people really are. I hear its also where most of the violence occurs.
I saw a couple of really interesting characters, from spiky blue hairs, homeless people sleeping around the street – some smoking blunts, a street musician, down to the guy who freestyled (rap) for us.
I didn’t really take pictures of the five points area but I got the last four off Google (photo credit below) to show you what it looks like.
I’m having mixed feelings about returning back to Nigeria and seriously now re thinking practicing medicine in Nigeria too.
I’m going to be spending lots of hours in the airport in Qatar , already made inquiries to my lost blog planner and there’s still no positive response. *sigh*
I’m off to go do a bit of “airport exploring” and I will be sharing some on my snapchat: @cassiedaves.

Awww. At least you got some well deserved break. Re practising in Nigeria, i'm sure the opportunities in the US provide for better practice. Did you get to check that what opportunities are available for you to move over?

6 Love Lessons Learnt from my Wedding Ring
I definitely did, thank you!
I have to write usmle to move over, that's the first step.
Lovely post and I'm glad you enjoyed Atlanta! Without a car it is hard to do anything in Georgia. I understand it must have been so annoying. I feel the pain lol

It was so annoying and depressing forreal. Having to always depend on people to go anywhere sucks.
Glad you enjoyed yourself. The pictures are lovely. Thinking about careers after university can be challenging. I thought doctors had it easy, they could just become doctors after studying. I studied International Relations at uni and it's difficult deciding what to do with myself. I guess the decision is to just "do something good and worthwhile" and gain work experience.
We must vacate too o. Glad you had a much needed break. And pictures say you had a wonderful time and timing was perfect
Yes oh. Very much needed break and I had a good time. Thank you June
Holidays are great for decluttering one's mind and figuring out things.
It's nice that you had a relaxing time. 🙂
Hey Cassie,
Nice post here. It's great that you took time off to relax and I feel like that goes a long way.
As regards your practice, take time out to weigh out your options and write them out if possible. Sometimes, writing out plans help make our options easier to choose from.
I wish you the very best!

Lool. The 'thoroughly embarrassed myself' made me chuckle. Sounds like something I'd say. I can't wait to finish with school just so I can travel somewhere else.
Lol. I did oh! I fell down so many times ehn , even my 4 4yr old cousin fell less times than I did.
See, what level are you in now?
I'm glad you had fun in Atlanta – sawry we didn't get to meet up. At least you got your Snapchat game on!
Have a safe flight.

I will! Thank you.
Sorry about your planner Cassie. I can't imagine how you feel. Just close your eyes, take a deep breathe and begin working on a new one:) before you know it, you'll hardly remember the old one. It reminds me of how my former blog crashed and when I was tempted to see it as a disappointment after the efforts and money put into it, God made me see it as a blessing and provided something better and suitable teaching me things in the process. And about your practice, you can pray about it and know what God has in mind for you. xo!
I definitely remember when your blog crashed and you had to start over *sigh*
Thank you for the advice
Your cousins are so cute 😊
Lovely Vacay pics
Don't give up hope on finding your Blog planner

Yaaayyy! I'm glad you enjoyed my snaps! Thank you!
My cousin called me weird too many times because of my snaps, that I started wondering if I wasn't exposing my weirdness to the world lmao
Thank you!
Lovely pictures, you have a good eye.
Welcome back to the struggz. You should consider the USMLE. Have more options 🙂
Yep. Usmle is what's needed if you plan to practice in America, so it's a must.
I wish you well as you plan on where you will practice medicine at and ATL is really beautiful, would love to travel there someday!

Thank you so much!
I didn't even get to capture the city well.
At least you get a break!!! I'm in school the whole year without even a two week break. The graffiti walls look really dope and i really laughed at your falling down during the skating!! I wasn't even thinking of practicing in Nigeria uno…lol Back to struguu Lagos.

Thank you Steph!
Lovely pictures, i'm glad you enjoyed your trip.Welcome back dear, I hope your trip wasn't too stressful and I do hope you find your lost blog planner soon.
Amen! I'm still very hopeful, even though it's looking bleak.
Thank you
Oh lawwd…I and my sister sat down pouring over the pictures, so creatively taken. Saw the shoes on the lines once in a film too!…sorry about the transportation problem..what I found helpful is to map out a part of the town with multiple attractions and invest in going there then basically spend the whole day. And please practice medicine in Nigeria oh!..even if you just gain experience in jand and come back cause we need doctors that actually know what their doing
Obviously it is a nice trip, I really love the fact you went to downtown Atlanta! Also, I wish to work with you on a blog, Althou not fully been set up,but hopefully something soon enough because I can't wait to start it off! Cassie, I thank God for your protection and pray he continues to dice you around and same time touching people's life in a way…*welcome back*
Beautiful pictures Cassie. They make me wish i had a dope camera too. Georgia is definitely a place I'll like to visit someday, I hope I get too. Love your blog!

These pictures are dope!
Medical practice in Nigeria has become major struggs. It's sad but that's the situation, so please exit if you can.
I miss riding a bicycle. Last time I was a child. I can only imagine the Humpty Dumpty fall I'll have when I try again.
Gosh you're making me homesick! Am overseas and reading blogs like this just makes me miss home ^_^ Glad ya'll had an awesome time – beautiful family!!
