A Mini Skincare Haul – Klairs, Cosrx, Cerave And The Simple Brand.
I’ve been having the hardest time putting pen to paper and cooking up a post, but I’m excited to share some of my recent skincare haul/purchases with you guys.
I have a hate love relationship with skincare. Love because good skin is such a confidence booster, and hate because there are just way too many amazing products out there and skincare can be quite expensive. Regardless, I always try to stick to a routine/products that work for me, and not buy into the whole products craze.
Related: Trying out Korean beauty products for the first time.
Recently, I made some new skincare purchases to replace finished products, and I also had to get some entirely new ones to switch my routine a bit because I’ve been battling with dry skin and loss of my moisture barrier. (This is a long story that deserves another blog post tbh)
Anyways, like I said, I’m trying to ease back here and what other exciting thing to do other than talk skincare ey? Let’s get right into it!
Here are some of my recent skincare haul.
Cerave Hydrating Cleanser.
I guess it was just a matter of time before I finally purchased a Cerave product. I had been seeing quite a lot of Cerave products around lately, and a couple of people I follow swear by the brand and this particular cleanser.
Initially, I was stuck between going with this one, the foaming cleanser or the SA renewing cleanser. I finally made this choice because I’m trying to rehydrate my skin, and I’m all about products that will spark joy in my currently dehydrated skin.
I’ve had this for about two days now, and although it is a really new feel for me (it doesn’t foam!), I think we are going to have a beautiful relationship. No regrets so far.
Heritage Store RoseWater Toner.
One thing that was missing in my previous skincare routine was a toner. I personally never really saw the need for one, it seemed like a “nice to have”, and not a “need to have’.
A friend recommended this to me when I shared my skincare woes with her, and after reading a few reviews plus the ingredient list, I went for it. Asides from how easily it pours out and consequently is prone to wastage (because of the packaging), so far I also haven’t regretted getting this.
Cosrx AHA/BHA Toner & Snail Mucin Essence.
Cosrx is one of my favorite korean beauty brands, so I had pretty high expectations for these products. The snail mucin happens to be a highly rated product, but I’ve found that whilst it’s nice to have if you can afford an extra product, it’s not exactly the holy grail everyone makes it out to be.
The Cosrx AHA/BHA toner on the other hand, I have had an extremely turbulent relationship with. It just didn’t soak into the cotton pad well or apply on my skin easily. But I will be giving it another try as soon as I’m done healing my skin, and should hopefully come back with a full review of both products.
The Ordinary Buffet Serum.
I’ve had my eye on this product for quite sometime, but I just couldn’t find it anywhere. Fortunately, I finally managed to cop one a few days ago. The buffet serum is a peptide serum, and is said to work magic on fine lines, texture and general signs of aging.
I used this last night, and it glided in so easily, so I’m keeping my fingers crossed that it does all it claims.
In case you’re wondering why I’m using a product with an anti-aging effect, I’ll just add that we always think we are young with a lot of time, then one day we wake up and our joints are hurting, back ache is worse, there are a few grey hairs, and our skin starts to sag. Make of this what you want.
Also prevention is always better than cure.

These were part of my products restock, meaning that I have used them previously in the past. I kept saying I was going to do a review here, but time and chance happeneth to me.
Both products are a fave! Though not exactly the most budget friendly out there, so I’m constantly looking for dupes that are equally as good. If you know of any, hook your girl up please and leave me a comment.
Simple Replenishing & Protecting Moisturizer.
Okay let’s just ignore the hydrating light moisturizer right there because that’s an empty pack. Let’s focus instead on the simple protecting light and replenishing richmoisturizer.
The simple skincare brand is one of those trusty old brands that you can rely on when you’re looking for simple no fuss products. I ran out of my moisturizer (the hydrating light moisturizer right there), stumbled on these other variants and copped them both.
I’m a bit skeptical of the replenishing one because it has a very faint fragrance smell and everyone knows simple has no fragrance. I haven’t used it yet because I’m scared it’s a fake.
Altruist Dermatologist Sunscreen.
I copped this a while back after my missha sun block finished and I actually quite like it.
It can get a bit heavy so it needs to be worked into the skin well, but it doesn’t leave a white cast, and is affordable.
Have you used any of these products? Let me know in the comments! What new products have you added to your stash recently. Share please and let’s connect!

Skincare makes me sooooo happy!!!!
I loved reading this so much!!
I can’t wait to get a CeraVe product too. I’m leaning towards their Moisturizing lotion.
So sorry about your moisture barrier. I hope it gets replenished (is that the right word?) with this new routine.
I really hope you speak about it here too.
I just got the Heritage Rose Toner and am waiting for it to be shipped.
Again, I loved reading this post (and seeing the photos too)
I’ve only tried the simple moisturisers out of all the products mentioned here. I actually ordered the altruist sunscreen on Amazon but it never got delivered. I alternate between the Neutrogena Hydroboost and Ultra Sheer One. I would love to collaborate with a skincare brand though, there are so many products I want to try!
Hello Cassie, I love your sunscreen, I’d love to buy, please where did you buy yours?
I love skincare posts and I particularly enjoy reading yours. It’s so relatable. I’m not at that point where I can cop products I’d need yet (girl needs money), but I’d venture into sharing My skincare Journey when that happens. For now, I steal from my mom most times.
The Cerave has been everywhere too, people swear by it. Anti aging products can be used as long as we are aging please, we don’t have to clock 50 before we start. Lol.
Thank you for sharing!!
I have used the crave hydrating cleanser and I loved it but, it’s a bit above my price range. The altruit sunscreen is a face and with time, you’ll master how to apply it well.
Thank you, I love the CeraVe cleanser.
I’ll check out simple and buffet serum. I couldn’t find a good dupe sunscreen so I went for baby sunscreen instead, the white marks are appalling and stressful…. whew , I should probably work it in more but I’m worried that I’ll rub off my serum and other skincare applied already.
Take care of your skin and it will thank you!
Hey there Cassie awesome post as always. Skincare hauls are on one of my favorite things as well. I haven’t tried any of these products yet they are brands that I am familiar with and brands I would love to try. I have my eye on the Cerave foaming cleanser and the simple skin moisturizer. It wouldn’t hurt to try the Buffet serum as well.
Looking forward to your reviews of the products.
