I’ve loved Oroma Elewa long time, right from when i stumbled upon her blog Oroma’s Therapy sometime last year. Then it wasn’t even for her style because i didn’t get to see much of that on her blog. I fell in love first with the way her mind works (from reading some of her musings) and then just recently with her style. You see its quite easy to know the way a person thinks from the way they write. I think that’s why i love to read poetry, it gives me a little glimpse into the minds of people.
Its also quite easy to see that she is a creative (what’s that? find out here) and these are the type of people I’m drawn to.. Strong creative women that chart their own path, lead their lives and ultimately drive the course of history. The Likes of Yagazie Emezi, Jodie Smith and LoveFola. The boyfriend thinks what they have in common is that they all look “Dark” (and I’m not talking about skin colour). LOL. I beg to differ though, i think that’s what makes them unique. Funny they are all based in new york. I’m beginning to get convinced that New York is the headquarters of all creatives and free-spirits.
