A Week Of Work Outfits – My Office Style Inspiration.

Cassie Daves work outfits inspiration- wearing a waist coat and white shirtI’ve been meaning to do a “week in outfits “post ever since I happened upon A cup of Jo’s week in outfit style series. Now I actually have a chance to, seeing as I now must leave home every day and “attempt” to pull off some chic work outfits.

Although, I must admit that I haven’t been documenting my work outfits as consistently as I should. In between trying to get myself prepped and rushing out for work in the morning, I often forget to carry my camera out. So, please forgive the extra crappy images.

Regardless, here are a few of the outfits I wore this past week for your work style inspiration (If this is your sort of thing).

I’m wearing a waistcoat styled over a white shirt and pleat skirt for my Tuesday workflow. I know how good a fitted stylish corporate dress or pants with heels look, but honestly? That isn’t the aesthetics I gravitate towards “naturally’’.

One of the things I try to remind myself of, especially being surrounded by pretty dresses is to always maintain my individuality and wear more of what makes me comfortable regardless of what society deems attractive.

P.S – Waist coat styled differently here for Fashion week.

Unlike the previous outfit, this look wasn’t a pre-planned one. I disliked this dress when I first got it and already decided that it was going to be for casual days, but I realized that all I needed was to dress it up a bit to make it more “work appropriate “. Layering was the route I chose.

One of the things that have really helped me so far is planning my work outfits for a month at once. Although, on some days I wake up and decide to wear something else, having an already laid out structure has been a time saver.

Picking out an outfit for work every day can be boring and time-consuming, here's a hack to make the process easier! Click To Tweet

For Casual Friday, I decided to pair this with white sneakers instead of heels like I initially planned. One of the great parts of working in the department that I do is the fact that I can still wear sneakers to work.

I also find it a bit ironical and funny that My colleagues tend to compliment my work outfits more on days I wear sneakers lol! Funny, because I went into a bit of “heels frenzy “as I had planned to be a proper working-class girl, all dressed in cute heels to go.

I LOVE all my recent shoe additions though so compliment or no compliment, just wearing them is an extra confident booster for me.cassie-daves-work-outfits-inspiration-a-week-in-style-5.jpg cassie-daves-work-outfits-inspiration-a-week-in-style-5.jpg

I’ve had to battle against myself a bit when it comes to my work outfit and my style lately because all I ever really want to do is throw on a shift dress and call it a day.

Can I say I’m stuck in a style rut or is this just adulting catching up to me? It got me worried for a while especially as one of my identities is centered around being a “style enthusiast”. Planning my work outfits for a month ahead has helped a bit but if you have any extra tips for me, I’ll appreciate it.

Have you ever experienced this? Also, what’s your work style like? Please share, comment and let’s get social!
