Birthday Girl || On Turning Twenty Two.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!

I don’t know about you but I’m
feeling twenty- two!

Nah, not really…

It just felt a bit appropriate to belt out some taylor swift lyrics.
I’m honestly not sure how twenty two is meant to feel. I feel the  same way I did yesterday except I realize that I’m getting older and of course with it comes all the side effects of being an ‘adult’ – pressure to do something meaningful with life, be independent etc

Its amazing how time flies really.
I was talking to someone the other day about how I’ll be twenty two soon but I could just blink and I’ll be thirty. Real yo!
It also seems like just the other day, I was celebrating my eighteenth birthday.
I still remember walking the grounds of LUTH with one of my then favourite people when the clock struck twelve and now I’m twenty – two!

I’m thankful for life though and growth!
Even though life is a bit more complicated now, I can definitely see the difference between where I’m at now and where I was on my last birthday.
My life has a bit more direction than back then and yes I can surely say that twenty two found me in a good place mentally and emotionally and for that I’m extremely thankful.

I guess there was really no need worrying about so much back then and all I had to do was let time work its magic.

I hear your twenties is the time to explore and live a bit. I still haven’t tried out a lot of fun things I would have loved to by now – like road tripping across Nigeria but I still will someday soon.

I’m currently lying down on my bed not quite sure how my day would play out but determined to be happy regardless.

Here’s to many more years with you guys! Thank you so much for sticking with me through the years and I truly appreciate all the love.

P.S – I wrote about my twentieth birthday here and twenty first here.

Pictures by @1smahel , though I did the editing and I’m sure he’ll kill me when he sees what I turned his beautiful pictures to -_-
