Current Favorites – Five Things I’m Loving Lately

January + February Faves

Happy new month guys!!

I know we are already a few weeks into the new month, but better late than never right? I’m so glad February finally ended. Is it just me or did it stretch forever?!

Regardless, February was an interesting month for me, and not exactly in the best way. I struggled with my health (endometriosis related) for the better part of the month, but thankfully it all ended in praise.

I haven’t written a “things I’m loving post” in years and I plan to correct that with this post.

So here are a few of my current favorites and things I’m loving lately.

1. Mini Bags.things im loving asos mini bucket bag things im loving asos mini bucket bag

Mini bags are all the rave right now and I was lucky enough to snag two from ASOS at a giveaway price ( about N3500).

This is my favorite of the two and I absolutely love that it works with almost everything I own. Brown is such a versatile color and brown accessories are a must have.

2. Banila Co Cleansing Balm.

I’ve always wanted to try an oil cleanser, because my friend (and everyone else in the K Beauty community) swears by it.

I was particularly interested in getting the Banila cleansing balm because of Instagram lol! It kept popping up on every other skincare video on my explore page and it looked so pretty too.

When Skinificent, a skincare retail brand reached out to gift me a few products, I didn’t hesitate to pick this.

I used it for a while and I finally understand the rave about it/oil cleansers. The Banila Co clean it zero cleansing balm removes makeup and dirt SO WELL and doesn’t irritate the skin.

Unfortunately, I have normal skin type (and don’t use makeup ) so the double cleansing every morning and night was too much for me so I had to go back to just cleansing with my water cleanser alone.

But if I had to revert back to oil cleansers, I’ll definitely go with Banila co cleansing balm.

Do you double cleanse? What oil cleansers do you use?

3. Best Self Cards.things im loving best self co courage over comfort cards things im loving asos mini bucket bagthings im loving best self co courage over comfort cards

The best self cards are a set of cards with 150 different prompts to help you get out of your comfort zone. The prompts cover different categories – health, learning, random, relationships, experiences, self.

I’d been seeing these online for a while but I couldn’t get one because it’s by a U.K. brand with no outlet in Nigeria, so when I walked into work one day and found them on our desks, you can imagine my excitement.

Although I honestly don’t follow all the prompts, I share them daily with my audience on instastory because they seem to love it.

There are other card types as well and you can check all of that out on BestSelf.co

4. Zara Perfumes.

I’m not sure why people don’t talk about Zara perfumes enough because they are really good! I was looking for a budget friendly perfume replacement after mine finished and stumbled on an Instagram account that retails them.

I was a bit skeptical because I didn’t really know anyone that has used a Zara perfume but after reading reviews (and asking my Instagram fam), I decided to just go for it. Zero regrets.

I got the Zara black amber and red vanilla (both 100ml each), they both come as a set and cost just N11,000! IKR! The black amber was my fave of the two.

It doesn’t have longevity though (it’s an EDT), but I definitely would repurchase this and I’m now open to trying more Zara perfumes.

5. Lohrin Co Hair Detangler.lohrin.co hair spray Things I'm loving lohrin.co hair spray

I didn’t know I needed a hair detangler till I met the Lohrin co wig spray. Okay scratch that, I knew I did. I just didn’t know which and where to get one from.

This detangling hair spray is by a Nigerian brand and it works for both fiber hair and human hair wigs/weaves.

It’s a bit hard taking care of an Afro wig but this helps keep mine shape.

  • Thanks for sharing your favs! I’m getting into oil cleansing (I have oily skin) & may try the cleansing balm. Been using a Zara perfume (Wonder Rose) for a year+ & it’s so good! (It was only $15). On BestSelf now checking out the cards. Great post!

  • I love the fact that you always come back to this space. I am literally inspired to write a ‘Things I’m Loving’ post too.
Writing seems so far off from me right now, but this just may be the zing I need!
The Self-Cards seem like such a gem. NEED!

  • Totally getting my bestie those Best Self cards! Also love that mini bag. I feel like I can’t really pull those off because my hips are so wide and it looks like the bag is jutting out, but this bag makes me want to try again.
