Because Denim is always in! And Double denim, even more!
It’s probably not news that Fashion week is here again! Yes, the much anticipated Lagos fashion and design week (LFDW) starts tomorrow and I’m guessing, unlike me, you already have all your look to fashion week planned out and ready to slay at fashion week.
I’ve been marking register at LFDW since 2013 and if there’s one thing I love about the fashion week period, it’s the street style and being surrounded by uber stylish people. I particularly like picking out people who manage to make a statement without being too fussy about it.

For me, I think that style is really easy and non-forced. Especially with the pressure and razzmatazz that comes with fashion week, you don’t have to go buy something new or break the bank to make a statement and that’s what I’m trying to portray in this post. Denim is as easy as it comes and can be dressed up or down with the right accessories. It also helps that it is street style fave at fashion week.
If you’re like me though, champion of the last minute club and just about ready to wing it for fashion week before buying anything new. Take this as me encouraging you to reach into your wardrobe, pull out that denim and find a way to make it work! Here’s a quick, easy yet stylish double denim style inspiration for you to get started.

Mom jeans are stylish and in right now but you can work with any other quirky denim pants in your closet. For this look, I paired it with a vintage white shirt and layered with a denim dress, which for me elevated the look. If I had to wear this double denim look to fashion week, I’d definitely go for white sneakers instead of heels. What do you think? Workable?

Looking at this now, I should have probably titled this something along the lines 0f “1 denim pants, 2 ways” haha. Although both looks were taken at different events and this was worn to a casual event, you can still dress this up and make it work for fashion week as well. Switch up the shoes, and accessories and you have a different look.
I’ve styled this shirt previously to LFDW years back in a different double denim way and you can check that out here.

Denim is a timeless fabric and I’m totally loving your double denim look. If I were to wear denim to a fashion week, I’ll most likely be dressed like this my denim on denim look.
I totally understand doing you with no pressure especially with fashion week where most people work hard to be noticed.
I still hope to attend fashion week one day, till then, have fun! Will be catching up here.

You know this! And I feel like the pressure is even harder for me being a style blogger and all haha. Thanks B and I’m off to check out yours!
Ofcourse, everyone expects style bloggers to come up with uniquely styled outfits different from other attendees. It doesn’t matter how they got the outfits, lol
*P.S. I linked my denim outfit within my comment where I mentioned it.
lol I know you linked it
I like this, mom jeans and a long denim fit is what many people don’t think will work but the first time I tried it, (posted on the blog too) I really liked it. Right now, my designers are messing up real bad and I’d be lucky to not get frustrated by this outfit wahala because I’m far from home and can’t reach into wardrobe for anything. Sigh. “Va Va Voom without blinding us” is what I like to see and this is my first FW so I’m pretty excited!
