Hi, my name is Cassie Daves and I’m an advocate for enjoyment, adventure and making the most of your immediate environment.
In this case, my local environment being “Lagos”- a city I have a slightly toxic hate-love relationship with. But if there’s something I love about my city, it is the hustle spirit, active weekend life and of course the array of things to do in Lagos as compared to other states in Nigeria.
So I was “slightly” offended when a friend mentioned that there was a scarcity of things to do in Lagos asides weddings, events/shows, clubs, and restaurant hopping.
“Slightly” because I used to think like her too. That is until I saw the light and realized that there are a ton of fun activities and things to do in Lagos away from the regular. So I thought to share a few of these things from my own experience with you guys, hopefully also inspire you to go out and explore more of the fun activities that Lagos has to offer.
Looking For Fun Alternative Things You Can Do In Lagos? Check This Out! Click To Tweet1. Sea Tractor Cruise.
I saw a video of Olamide from LivinginLekki blog doing this and I knew I just had to try it out, phobia of water be damned. The sea tractor is sort of like a manual “quad bike or bicycle”, in the sense that you actually have to pedal it yourself.
This costs N5000 per ride for 30 minutes (Either just you alone or you can pair with someone and split the bill) and you can access it at the Sea Lounge Restaurant in Lekki.
This was pretty relaxing, an interesting experience and not as scary as I thought it would be. I’ll advise you to go during the evening or at a time when the sun isn’t scorching.
2. Kayaking.
Another water sport? Do I really like myself? I ask myself this same question every time I decide to get on a boat or do something that involves being on the sea.
Kayaking is like Canoeing but in a special type of boat (Kayak). It’s also another manual water sport because you need to use a boat paddle to get it moving. My kayaking experience was with the Trupper Nigeria team and I was scared shitless all the time I was out on the water!
But I’m glad I did it and got to tick Kayaking off my own list of things to do in Lagos.
We kayaked at the waterside on Alexander road in Ikoyi, unfortunately, I can’t say the actual cost because I paid to the Trupper team as part of a fun activity they organized but if you’ll like to do this, you can reach out to the guys over at NTDIL.
3. Paint Balling.
If you like activities that get your adrenaline pumping, Paintballing is for you! Let’s just say that I never really expected it to be that intense and the shots? Hurt like hell!
But do I recommend? Yes definitely! It’s a good (team) bonding activity and I personally think that it’s good to experience things at least once.
I got a paintballing deal on dealdey (Still mourning the death of dealdey tbh) with a group that organizes pop up paintball activities and this one was at the Ndubisi Kanu park in Ikeja. But you can find places to paintball in Lagos here.
4. Camping At The Beach.
Although, this isn’t exactly an “activity” per se because it’s not something you can do in a few hours but I just had to include this. It involves sleeping out and is a lot of fun, I promise!
Camping out and sleeping in tents have always been on my to-do list and I finally got to experience it late last year as part of an influencer -brand event.
We camped at the Jay bee Beach camp in Tarkwa Bay. I’ve stayed at Jaybee previously but in the cabins and not sleeping outdoors in a tent, you can read all about my stay and the cost Here.
5. Go Karting.
One thing on this list that I really enjoyed and had no hazards at all (No risk of falling into the water, being shot at with fake bullets that still hurt so bad) was Go-karting!
Although the staff at Get Arena in Oniru (where the Go Karting spot is) tried to ruin our mood with their rudeness and poor customer service, I still enjoyed the experience of riding the Go Kart and racing with my friends.
I really can’t recall how much we paid but it was also a coupon from Dealdey so it was a discounted price.

I’ll love to camp. Was there a bonfire? ,😭
These are great activities I’ll def try.
Yes yes! There was a bonfire later at night. It was such a dope experience
I actually have most of these on my to-do list(unwritten to-do list). I have to try them out this year. Thanks for sharing 😊
Eya, Dealdey is no more? I used their platform to get spa services – although the quality of spas they worked with got lower and lower with time.
I don’t understand how you’re afraid of water but you’re into water activities. I love water and swimming, but I’m not kayaking for anybody.
I am a medical doctor, and will like to venture into hair care products. I have a nice hair texture just last week I have been advertising on my Facebook page and a senior colleague chatted me up that doctors are not supposed to advertise that if MDCN should catch me the will collect my license. I have been a bit down, though I am still doing offline adverts for now. Pls what advise do you have for me.
Boxing fitness class at Elitebox.
great fun.
Very enlightening, much of an out-goer myself and I have visited a lot alongside the above listed. really the dealdey palaver was a shocker for me too until you made mention of it, been asking around and majority are not even aware the site is down. I had awesome deals especially the get arena deals was always a must whenever the deal was on.
Also, want to ask if anyone has an idea of a park or garden around Surulere and axis, paid or free, but very conducive to have a relaxation time or take a book along to read.
Super fun activities I’ll definitely love to try. I love the camping and go-karting.

Camping at the beach sounds fun. I’ll try it out but worried about security and safety. This is Lagos.
Lol.
