Weekend Style || Off Shoulder Top x High Waisted Jeans.

The off shoulder top trend might be long gone but I’m definitely still here for all of it. There’s just something about bare shoulders that adds a sexy twist to a look, and if you’re anything like me – awkward black girl with not one atom of “sexy” in my body, you learn to take the little you can get and love those trends that help you out a bit without being overboard. lol

I got this brown frill off shoulder top as a gift from fellow blogger Wumi and this high waisted mom jeans was a thrift find from my stay in Atlanta – but of course you already know that because I’ve styled same mom jeans here and here also.

I took these pictures sometime last year but I felt I had over flogged my love for the mom jeans here on the blog and wanted to give you guys a break from it. Haha!

One of the notions people have of fashion bloggers is that they all have a wardrobe full of clothes and there’s a bit more scrutiny on them as well. I’ll confess that this has held me back from shooting some looks but I realize that part of the aim of this blog is to be able to show people multiple ways to style a particular clothing item and maximize/ make the best out of their wardrobe

I can’t promise you fancy designer clothes and shoes worn just once (soon though!) but I can assure you of an interesting style journey.

The off shoulder top and high waisted jeans are two of my favorite things to wear when I’m going for an easy yet stylish outfit (read as weekend outfit) so styling them together was a no-brainer.

Weekends for me are synonymous to chill days – although I still work on weekends. I get to be all corporate during the week so when the weekend rolls around, all I want to do is be comfortable but look cool while at it regardless of if I’m on call or not.

I wore this on a day out exploring downtown Atlanta with my cousins. The double choker neckpiece was for an extra cool factor and of course, I decided to go with flats instead and brown sunshades in the second set of pictures to complete the look.
