How To Style The Beret Fashion Trend Like A Fashion It Girl

Sometime last year I did a style inspiration post on the beret fashion trend here and ever since then, I’ve been waiting a long time to style the trend myself.

Although, I’ll be the first to admit that pulling off the beret fashion trend is not exactly an easy feat. It’s a tricky one that can easily be a hit or miss and leave you looking like a choir mistress. But pumped with some beret style inspiration from some of my favorite style influencers and bloggers from the web, I was ready to give the beret trend a try.

I immediately went out and purchased two berets for myself which eventually came in handy sometime early this year when I was invited for a Parisian themed event (The Mon Guerlain launch which I blogged about here) because we all know that when you think of Paris and Parisian fashion accessories, the beret takes center stage. But for some reason, I ended up not getting any pictures that night.

Fashion week (LFDW 2017) this year brought back all my love for the beret style trend. The beret fashion trend was one trend that made the rounds during this year’s fashion week and honestly? I was here for and loving all of it!

The male folks were not spared as it was spotted on the heads of both guys and girls and styled in some of the coolest ways ever! I was inspired to try it out again.

This was my look to the final day of the Lagos fashion and design week and it was as last minute as my street style guide post for LFDW here. I was already in a beret high from all the fashion week street style sightings and had worn this particular beret out all week and so when I decided to wear this lovely orange off shoulder H&M dress I got from my friend Banke with white sneakers and a touch of red by way of my socks, I knew it was only right to top it off with a beret. I was initially worried about looking too colorful but what’s fashion week without a bit of color?
