Fashion Week Season Is Here.
I considered ending with an exclamation mark to portray a lot of excitement, but truth be told, this year did not find me as hyped as I normally would be. Regardless, I can’t deny that I have been following the 2019 Lagos fashion week ( both LFDW and GTBank fashion weekend) news closely, and I am genuinely looking forward to seeing all the razzmatazz that this year’s fashion week will bring with it.
I’m particularly looking forward to the street style. For me, fashion week goes beyond the trends that will emerge from the runway. I get way more excited about the street style trends; seeing what people are wearing and how they express their style during fashion week.
More often than not, the hottest looks will be spotted off the runway and this is what I live for during fashion month. So, taking a cue from Coco at millennielle, I thought to share a few of the trends that I’ve been loving lately and excited to see on street style stars and guests at both fashion weeks in Lagos this year.
I’m also giving away a ticket to the Day 2 of the 2019 Lagos fashion week, so don’t forget to read through to the end!
1. Oversized Blazers.

The oversized blazers made a come back this year and I’ve been more than slightly obsessed with it. I’ve always loved loose fitted clothing, but there’s just something extra cool about the oversized blazer trend. It’s boxy tailored silhouette is perfect for both comfort and style; both of which you’ll be needing for the Lagos fashion week slay.
2.Biker shorts.

Someone said that athleisure is the trend that keeps giving and I quite agree. Although not the easiest trend to rock, biker shorts have somehow (albeit reluctantly) made it into my trend list for this year and it will be nice to see how people style it creatively at fashion week.
3. Statement Bags.

I know the itty bitty bags and a lot of these statement bags are impractical but what better time for the impractical than fashion week? If you’re more on the laid-back side when it comes to your style, sometimes all you need is that one statement piece to do all the talking for you.
4. Euphoria Makeup

Wearable art? Yes, please! I have no idea what the TV show Euphoria is about but it’s hard to miss the new makeup trend borne from the show that’s currently making news amongst the beauty community. Euphoria makeup gets me so excited. All that color and creativity makes me want to throw my trusty old black liner away and switch to shades of neon.
I know makeup or beauty trends aren’t exactly the main focus when it comes to street style at fashion week and people pay more attention to their outfits, but I believe that fashion week is the best time to express your individuality, so why not go all in?

I absolutely agree especially the oversized Blazers part. I might just rock one soon.
I stopped reading blogs for a long time time. Youtube took my first love away. But coming back here i feel nostalgic and i must confess i have missed so much.
I agree with the Euphoria Makeup, reminds me of what Oyiin wore.
