Laguna Beach Lagos – A Budget Friendly Private Beach In Lagos (Review)

Wooden sign that reads as laguna beach lagosWhile everyone else was jetting off to Ghana for the Easter holidays, My friends and I decided to check out a new private beach in Lekki – Laguna beach Lagos. Not the fanciest way to spend the holiday but I needed the peace that comes with being on the beach.

Sometimes I get a strong urge to head down to the beach, place my blanket as close to the water as my phobia would let me and just relax or read a book.

Although, I don’t know how safe or ideal that’ll be at a rowdy beach like Tarkwa bay so I’ve been itching to visit a private beach in Lagos for a change.

I heard of Laguna beach Lagos from blogger babes –Lifewithtwotees. It is a private beach in Lekki located at the far end of the Ajah axis next to the Atican beach.

We went on a Saturday, so there was not much traffic to deal with and we had a pretty straight forward journey (it’s a journey if you’re coming from Surulere or anywhere that isn’t Lekki like me tbh).

Entrance is free on weekdays but costs N1000 during the weekend. I was pretty excited to see what it looked like. My friends didn’t believe it would look as good as the pictures.

Did it? Yeah kinda.. But the pictures definitely did not prepare me for how small the beach is. It’s a pretty small beach so don’t go with any grand expectations in terms of size.

We settled into one of the tents – which we later found out costs N5000; a fact I didn’t know earlier from the reviews I read. Although the tent sits at least 10 people so I guess it works and we got some discount too.

Unfortunately, I forgot to find out how much the single lounge chairs cost (for those who don’t want a tent).

The service was really really good. The waiter was super polite, cheerful and helpful so that made the experience 10x better for me and made me overlook the size of the beach.

Outside foods are not allowed but you won’t be stopped and searched or anything (side eye). They have a restaurant and bar so you can get food and drinks there. It’s not an extensive menu (no rice but there’s fries, fish/chicken, small chops, etc ) but decently prized.

I think it’s a new beach so it wasn’t so populated (or maybe it’s just cos of the distance) and is actually pretty serene if you just want to chill or host a small party with friends. The beach is clean as well.

We took these at the bar and I have to give it to the Laguna beach guys, they didn’t bother us at all about the camera and were willing to help.

I’m wearing a Topshop dress that I’ve been preserving for a more “glam event” but hey! who says I can’t re-rock right?
