Model Diary || Mai Atafo’s “Stay with me” video.

WED BANTS AND A LOVE SONG.

I was a bit unsure whether to put up this model diary post, majorly because its been a while now and also because I didn’t play a major role in the shoot. But I figured why not? I was really excited about this post back when we first had the shoot but I couldn’t put it up then because the whole thing was meant to be lowkey till the official release.( I hinted at it here though )
The video finally got released sometime last month but for some reason, I didn’t think I had the memory card containing the pictures with me and that’s why the post is coming this late. Saw the pictures the other day and decided to share some behind the scenes of the making of Mai Atafo’s “stay with me” video in collaboration with Praiz and Waje.

I’m sure by now everyone knows how hard I stan for designer Mai Atafo. I already talked about how he gave me my major break in the modelling industry here.

“Stay with me” – the music was first performed in public during the second edition of the Dream Weddings show by Mai , which I modelled in and blogged the behind the scenes here too. ( Good times. Ah) so I was really excited to hear that he was shooting a video for it also.
I basically played the part of a wedding guest and that’s what inspired the look in this post.
The video was a way to showcase some of his designs (the wedding outfits) and also to explore his creative side as well in putting together a visual for the song, at least that’s what I think. I should totally ask him this and update it soon.

It was a really fun day! I had to do something I almost never do in public – which was to dance. Lol. I’m actually sort of glad that they didn’t use the full clips of us (wedding guests) dancing, I’m almost positive that I would look awkward in it. We basically danced the whole time! There was the slow dancing time and then the soul train line , the guys were so much fun and it was also nice to see some of the celebrities all chilled and laid back.

The wedding set up for the video was also really cute and got me thinking about how I’d want my own wedding to be. Small, intimate and loads of fun! I think that’s the only way I can have a “soul train line” at my wedding – I love the concept!

I just realized how almost everytime I do something for Mai, it gets me thinking about wedding and marriage, just like in this post too where I also talked  about the pressure to get married and of course, how I’d also want a small wedding.
I’ve had this discussion with a few people and most of them agreed that they also want a small celebration but doubt that will happen because of their “Nigerian  parents”
