The Big Chop

Yesterday, i finally decided to pull myself up and cut my hair. I’ve been talking about doing this for like a year now and i figured i should start being more “action-oriented”.
Whoever said “its just hair”? Its not just hair, its much more than just hair for me. At some point, i almost chickened out and I was all so emotional when he started chopping my hair off.
Thank God i had my friend Ebuwa with me to help even though she had to constantly tell me to stop being a drama queen,(Easy for her to say, she’s #teamNatural)
Right now, I’m honestly still getting used to this look. I wanted a mo-hawkish kind of cut but i also didn’t want the sides of my hair to be shaved really low so i ended up with an “Anita Baker’ish kind of cut. *sigh*
I’ve gotten some nice compliments on the hair but i don’t think I’ll ever get used to the fact that my best friend from now will probably have to be a hair straightener (Yup, i didn’t consider the fact that I’ll have to keep tonging it to keep it standing).
But hey I’m just feeling real proud of myself right now that i actually carried out this act.
I can’t wait to grow my hair back but then it might be too early to say that. After all, its just the morning after and getting used to this will require some time.
Right? Right?

More Pictures of the finished look in my next post.

In other non-hair related gist, guess who’s birthday is in 5 days???

When you make up your mind to do something, no matter how hard it may
seem at first, just “doing” the thing, rather than spending ages
“thinking of doing” the thing, is what gets results.
