Outfit || The White Shirt x Blue Denim Style Formula.

An Ode To The White Shirt.

If there’s anything that is an absolute must have in any wardrobe, it’s the white shirt and of course the denim pants too (blue to be specific). That’s a no brainer – the white shirt is a wardrobe staple that fits right for every occasion and the denim pants, into every wardrobe regardless of age and style preference.
I’m currently on the look out for white shirts of all fits : be it the retro fit with frills or subtle patterns, the oversized white shirt from the menswear section, the classic white shirt or the sleeveless white shirt. I want them all!

Although in this post, mine isn’t the classic white shirt. I’m wearing a vintage one I got off fellow blogger Mide during the last yard sale. I saw it hanging on that rack and immediately knew that it belonged with me.

On the denim end, high wasted denim pants and loose fitted ones have always been my go to – mom jeans to be specific. I still have my skinny jeans but they don’t get as much love from me these days. This particular denim pant is an all time favourite on the blog, making it’s first appearance in this style post back when the boyfriend jeans was all the rave. I’ve styled it here and here also.

You might recognize this look from my post on the importance of blogger friendships. I mentioned that I was going to do a full post on the look becuse I loved this outfit so much that I just had to dedicate a post to it.
It is one of those easy outfits combining basics that still ends up looking stylish. It also helps that it combines two of my favorite wardrobe staples – the white shirt and blue (boyfriend) jeans. I decided to go for white flats instead and my blue haute signatures sunnies – both featured in my recent haul post here.

There’s something about the white shirt and blue jeans style formula that just makes it work. Whether with flats or heels, layered with a blazer or kimono, it’s a sure way to get out of a style fix quickly and still look chic.
