Lagos Living | Art Cafe Lagos x Giveaway Winner.

I first came across art cafe on yagazie’s instagram sometime last year
and it looked just like the type of place I’d love to lay nest in. I
knew I had to check it out sooner or later. Somehow I forgot all about
it till a while back when I stumbled upon a post on the place by niknak. When I had to meet up with Bella, I was quick to suggest Art cafe to
her and she equally loved it.

Art Café is a cafe, bar & grill and tea room located at 282 Akin
Olugbade Street in V.I. I love cozy spaces and art, so I fell in love
with the place immediately I stepped in. Being surrounded by art and vintage posters in a not so brightly lit
space is guaranteed to make you feel all deep and creative. lol. There were a couple of people working on their laptops when we got there, I think there’s also free WiFi but we didn’t ask.

The cafe flows out to an outdoor space that’s equally as lovely as the
indoor space. Surrounded my rustic light shades, flowers and bright
colours.

I wish I felt free enough to take more pictures but after a lot of back
and forth talk with the manager looking all fierce at first and
demanding to see our business cards, I really didn’t feel up to it
anymore even after he gave us free rein to take pictures, so I asked
Bella’s friend Mo to help me out.

There’s also a store, an art gallery and dance studio in the same
building and I think its all owned by the family. I hear the store is also a
delightful space to be in, though I didn’t check it out but be sure to
drop by if you ever go to art cafe.

I met up with Bella there majorly because we had planned to have a shoot
there but I had to try their banana cake because the good people at
eat.drink.lagos said its a must have.
The slice of cake cost N1200 and it was alright. I think its a bit
pricey though but like my friend says, I’m paying for the ambience as
well. I also got a can schweppes which cost N600 – again pricey but
let’s blame it on the ambience.
Would I go back to art cafe? Totally! But more for the chilled atmosphere than for anything else.

Have you ever been to art cafe?

P.P.S : The giveaway winner is Kuti Olubukola of beautybydupsey.blogspot.com. I was stuck between her and beautifullyjune but her current theme made me cringe the most (-_-).
