Outfit || Back To Vintage.

I‘m slowly returning back to my retro roots so you might be seeing a bit more of vintage inspired outfits.
I had to think for quite a while for a fitting title but couldn’t come up with any so I asked a couple of people what this look reminds them of, to try to come up with a title and all the replies I got back had ‘vintage’ in them. I was expecting someone to mention that I look like a school teacher though, because that’s what I see when I look at this. lol. That and vintage, of course.

The vintage eras get a bit confusing to separate sometimes because some of these trends tend to spill over into the next era. I think this is a 90’s style – with the print blazer and pleated skirt. My stylist friend thinks its a mix of the 80’s and 90’s.

What do you think?

This outfit wasn’t what I initially meant to shoot. I actually wore the shirt and skirt with my denim jacket (remember it from this post?) thrown around my shoulder to church but didn’t get to shoot it that day.
When I tried on this blazer on a later day, it just seemed to work better and I decided to shoot this instead.
I’ve styled this floral blazer previously here and the skirt also here.

What do you think of this look and what will you wear differently?

I wore this to my secondary school’s alumni thing but without the heels.
Not exactly fitting seeing as it was also a sort of reunion and I should have probably be trying to impress more/show how much I’ve evolved (don’t lie! When you hear reunion- you start planning baffs.) but I honestly couldn’t really be bothered much.

I was that awkward girl back in secondary school. You know the one that hardly goes for any social activity and could be found logging around a big chemistry textbook and arguing with the boys about chemical formulas? It didn’t help that I was taller than most of the boys and I always had my head stuck in a book.
Look who eventually bloomed though?! You know its funny now that I look back, how I never really thought I’ll ever be all that, but all I needed to do was get a bit more self confident and give myself time.

Were you a late bloomer?
