Book || Helon Habila – Waiting for an Angel

This isn’t exactly a book review, just some quotes that spoke to me and i definitely had to put down while i was reading “Helon Habila’s- Waiting for an Angel” Book

-Life is like a wave motion, full of highs and lows. We sit on life’s
shores with our hands open, waiting to receive. But the water knows,
more than we do, what we need and what we don’t need. It takes away from
us what we don’t need, and drops it at another shore where it is
needed. Sometimes it returns to us what it took away, refined and
augmented with brine and other sea minerals

-Ah, sweet youth.
Your life has just started. Youth. That is the one thing the waves never
return to us. Once lost, it is gone for ever.

-But no two loves, or pains, or loyalties can ever be the same

-What light and winged things promises are, fluttering away on the wind no sooner than they are uttered

-People
become dreamers when they are not satisfied with their reality, and
sometimes they don’t know what is real till they begin to dream

– You are so young and this world is full of falsehood. Before you know it, its all gone. Youth, Laughter. All

the world is not as big and incomprehensible as people will have us
believe. Everything lies within our grasp, if only we cared to reach out
boldly.

– All we need is a little imagination to discover that things are not as fixed or impossible as we believe

Not all things must be understood immediately. The important thing is
to see and  memorize all the faces and impressions, and one day they
will begin to make sense to you
