Outfit || The Pinafore Dress.

Pinafores reminds me instinctively of toddlers and junior secondary school. I still remember in horror, of the too long navy blue one of my junior secondary school days with the cream shirt and red ribbon. I couldn’t wait to finally get out of that and into my senior uniform of a skirt/shirt instead.
I eventually did and couldn’t wait to get out of that either – Do we ever really get satisfied?

But hey, it’s time to look past the traditional view of a pinafore that comes to mind and embrace the new modern and stylish flair of the pinafore dress, which is just too cool for school! (See what I did there? Lol)
I particularly like how easy it is to wear, once you figure out what to wear underneath : which can be pretty much anything!

I’ve had this pinafore dress for a long while now and I’ve styled it previously on the blog here.
I always wore it with my orange crop top and I never really thought to pair it with a white shirt till I accidentally tried it on while wearing a white shirt and realized how perfect it was!
I decided to own the look a bit more by adding some extras – throwing on my pink jacket (styled here and here) and white creepers.

I wore this to the bloggers brunch (here) last year and I thought I had lost the pictures forever in my memory card that got spoilt (remember I mentioned it here) but someone was able to recover it for me.

What do you think of this look? What’s your take on the pinafore dress and how would you style this differently?

I hope you had a good day and your weekend started off right? I had a slight setback so I spent most of my saturday trying to get it fixed.
