Outfit || Weekend Style x Design For Love.

Hey Guys!
How’s your week going?
Today, I’m collaborating with the awesome people over at design for love (DFL) to bring you this weekend style post.
I had heard of the brand previously because my super stylist friend “TheStyleInfidel” ( who I’ve worked with here and here) styled  their last look book which was really cool and shot by Aham Ibeleme ( I’ve also worked with him here). You can view the look book here.
The DFL Brand is one fashion brand that works with african fabrics (ankara) that exceeded my expectations which makes me happy to share this with you. Most brands that work with ankara end up making it come off as basic, so it was refreshing to see that they also played around with other fabrics/textures, had a variety of styles that could work for you whether you’re the fully obsessed or the only slightly obsessed with african prints type and also really nice designs as well.
Can you guess which category of ankara obsession I fall under? If you guessed – only slightly, then you’re right! I have ZERO ankara outfits but quite a number of fabrics lying dormant in my closet. Which do you fall under?
I picked out and styled three looks to show you this diversity of offerings I’m talking about and how you can rock the DFL pieces for all your weekend activities.

WEEKEND CASUAL.

I initially picked out this chiffon top with ankara + lace inserts and high waisted shorts outfit for ‘a friday night out look. I planned to throw on my red blazer from this post, sky high fringe black heels and call it a night but I decided to go the casual route last minute opting for my new fave lace up sandals and minimal accessories instead. I hardly have ‘friday night outs’ but you can definitely style it that way if you like.

What do you think of this look?
Any Friday night out activities in your plans today? *wink*
WEDDING GUEST.
Because every weekend in Lagos is yet another wedding!
I already introduced you guys a bit into my wedding guest style in this post and keeping true to form, I picked out this really lovely high low skirt and top, styled with some gold accessories and a big smile. These set of pictures are my faves in the whole post – I should do more happy poses. It looks good on me.

What do you guys think?

CHURCH FLOW.
This pants was the first thing that caught my eyes as I was going through their pieces and I immediately knew I had to include it. Its a size bigger than my size though but I love love the flared style and vibrant prints.
I was initially going to style it with the wine red top up there but this white mesh top worked as well.
My church allows ladies wear trousers so this look will definitely work for church! I grew up in an Anglican Church where we had to cover our heads and wear only skirts/dresses so I’m always a bit hesitant, even till date to wear pants to church but I won’t think twice about wearing this.
What do you think about this look?
Which of the three is your favourite look?
