Outfit || Casual Vibes In Ouidah.

Another style post so soon?
Well, yes!

I figured I might as well share some of the pictures from my Cotonou trip that I’ve been hoarding for a while now. I had a great photographer in the person of my travel buddy, Alabi and even though we sometimes had conflicting views when it came to what type of aesthetics we preferred, we both agreed with the frame and location of these pictures.

I wore this to the Casa Del Papa resort in Ouidah, I blogged about the resort here. I wasn’t expecting the long ride there, so I was happy that I dressed as comfortable as I could be. Although I got more than a few stares because of my shorts, I couldn’t be bothered less because I wasn’t in my country. Lol!

I decided to go super casual and show some skin majorly because we were going to a “beach like” place, so I pulled out this green shorts I’ve styled previously on the blog here. Shorts are casual by nature but they can also be styled to look less basic, like how I styled my denim shorts in this post and how I tried to with this outfit too.
I have majorly denim shorts which is a shame as there are way more fun silhouette/prints and fashion forward options.

We found this building at the resort and I just knew I was going to end up posing in front of it. The whole aesthetics was appealing to my creative eye.
Midway into the shoot, I was approached by a lady who asked if I was a blogger or a fashion person because I look like one. I was wow’d but I guess there is actually a “fashion person look’ and I think my crochet fro and tote bag had some part to play in this. I gave her my blog url while lowkey cheesing hard on the inside.

Do you agree that there is a “fashion blogger/person” look?
What do you think of this outfit?

Speaking of tote bags, I’ve been going on and on about how I’m planning to create a few tote bags but here’s the thing about “planning/thinking about doing” , there is actually not much “doing being done” and you can easily get discouraged within that time frame and start to second guess your ideas.
I guess that’s what has been happening to me but re-reading Elizabeth Gilbert’s notes on the creative hussle the other day got me inspired. Like she says “create whatever causes a revolution in your heart and follow your obsessions”
I’m ready to introduce yall to my mantra totes line. Or at least one of the totes from the collection!

Are you a tote bag (not leather totes oh!) person? If you’re not a fan of them, mind sharing why?
Please let me know your thoughts on the outfit too.
And let’s connect!
