When Bloggers Meet : On The Importance Of Blogger Friendships.

I was going to make this post a picture story of the time I hooked up with two of my favourite online people (who happen to also be bloggers) but I thought to chip in a few thoughts also on the beauty of having blogger buddies.

If there’s one thing I like about blogging, it’s being able to connect with people I otherwise wouldn’t have known and the sense of community like I talked about in my post on ways blogging has changed me for the better.

For someone like me, who isn’t exactly the most sociable person out there and not so good at making conversations, I’ve been fortunate to make a few personal connections with fellow bloggers in my journey.
Some that led to great collaborations like the TBC Connect event and others just a really nice friendship/having people I know I can always reach out to whenever I need honest feedback, to talk about blogging related problems or just discuss brand partnerships and of course, hook up with at events too!
It was also thanks to support from some of these people that putting together my 2016 blog planners was possible.

Having people who can relate with the struggle can never really be overstated honestly. Although they aren’t as deep as the type of friendship I talked about in this post, I’m definitely grateful for all the connections I’ve made with other bloggers both offline and online.

If you’re a blogger, have you made any friends from blogging? What do you think about having blogger-boos?!

That being said, I finally got to meet up with Grace Alex of Gafashion. We’ve been “online friends” for a short while and it felt good finally getting to meet physically. We met at the new Cafe Neo in E-center, yaba (I did a review of Cafe Neo here) and we honestly couldn’t have picked a better spot. The staff were so receptive to us and didn’t mind at all that we had our cameras out – which is a rarity in Lagos. We bumped into Chiamaka of socialprefect blog – remember her from this post? I went on one of her legendary tours to Lekki Conservation Centre and blogged about it here!
We visited Cregital – a creative digital agency in surulere and ended up at the national stadium where we took the first few pictures in this post.
I had a really wonderful day and it didn’t feel like we were just meeting for the first time – there was no awkwardness at all.
I’m always skeptical about meeting online people off-line because I feel like It might be a bit awkward but this wasn’t. Maybe I’m mastering this social thing afterall lol.

Do you have any tips to avoid awkward first meetings? I’ll love to hear them please!
I didn’t intend this to be a style post because I still plan to put out a full outfit post from that day but I couldn’t resist sharing these pictures I took with Grace’s phone, I really love how it came out. Though, the ones I took with my camera are way more bomb though and I can’t wait to share them with you!
Please let me know your yhoughts on blogger friendships and how to avoid awkward first meetings.
Also, is there any blogger you’d like to meet in person?
Sharreee and let’s connect!
